Beautiful Chaos Syrah

Indeed, the best vintage yet for our Beautiful Chaos Syrah. Brooding and inky to the eye, which leads into a lifted bouquet of dark bramble fruits and savoury, earthy notes on the nose. The palate is charming, with luscious, concentrated fruit that is underpinned by powdery, cocoa-like tannins. A true expression of Syrah from our special, cool climate vineyard.
The Syrah was hand-picked in April, the last pick of our harvest. The fruit undertook fermentation naturally and was plunged daily. The wine remained on skins for three weeks. After pressing off and blending the wine returned to clay amphorae (50%) and neutral barriques (50%) for five months for further aging and to undergo malolactic fermentation naturally. The amphorae were then racked gently into a small stainless steel vessel where the wine clarified naturally for two weeks. The Syrah was bottled without any stabilisation, fining or filtration. It has no added sulphur.
